"Kenneth L. Waters, Jr. was captivating as Dr. Mortimer. Waters played Dr. Mortimer as astute and urbane, especially in his scene with Holmes and Watson."

Myself as Booker T in "U-Street, the musical". February 2018

Monologue about the character's views on the prision system, discussing how prison is a business that makes money off of African-Americans that are incarcerated.

At while at Frostburg State University, many musicians and fellow thespians would frequent a local bar in Downtown Frostburg called "Dante's". Dante's would hold open mic nights for the public to entertain and hone their crafts. One night, with a large amount of peer pressure, I decided to take to the mic and perform a song that is near and dear to my heart, "Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Show". One day I will perform the part of DR. FRANKENFURTER, until then, I will just sing the songs from the show at karaoke, cabarets, or at another open mic night! Filmed by my friend Aimee Conley. She was super excited to hear me perform this, as you can hear!
Sitzprobe for Sister Act - The Musical. I played Curtis Jackson and the song I had the pleasure of singing was "When I Find My Baby". Had so much fun doing this show and this number! Granted this isn't the choreography for this song, I was just having a little fun for the camera.
A commercial I did for a local business. Its currently playing on several cable channels in my local area.
I must say, it was a blast!

"Each of the creatures that joined James on the peach was carefully cast, as is evidenced in their performances. Centipede (played perfectly by Anthony Dieguez), Grasshopper (cleverly portrayed by Sean Michael Fraser), Earthworm (portrayed hilariously by Kenneth L. Waters Jr.), Ladybug (delightfully portrayed by Celena Hansen), and Spider (a poised and majestic performance by Emily Lane) all rose to the challenge of embodying their respective characters through physicality and vocal performances. This cast is quite talented."

This was so much fun to do. I was able to work with some of my College of Southern Maryland Alumni. I swear, we always call upon each other when we need actors or designers! Our bond is simply unbreakable!
"Of the men in this cast (and, we must admit, Walker's original work has often been criticized for painting a horrible picture of African-American men - something which this version attempts to mitigate with more equitable depictions of the male characters' gradual transformations).... Kenneth L. Waters Jr. is charming and funny as Harpo and his onstage relationship with Laiya Parker's Sofia is genuinely endearing.." Broadway World - Nashville

A Review

If nothing else, the performance of Kenneth L. Waters, Jr. make this a must-see experience. Waters portrays Mitch, the “comfort counselor.” Mitch is completing his community service hours by performing this job at the Bee. Waters was so convincing that I first wondered if he was just really this type of character in real life. The major brilliance of the performance by Waters is fully revealed when he also play the one of fathers to one of the characters. Waters transforms from knife-wielding thug to cake-baking nurturer. Waters even further shows his amazing technique and skill when he briefly plays a different character’s father and just as seamlessly transforms into a third, completely different character. Waters demonstrated strong vocals and he has an especially rich and pleasing tone. Overall, one of the best performances that I have seen in local theater." - a review on 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with Tantallon Players from Showbiz Radio
